この作品は、海洋コアセンターの研究で不要となった「マニアックなゴミ」のみを用いて制作されています。
自然界は、不安定、準安定、そして安定を繰り返し続けています。
人間もまた、同じではないでしょうか。
不安定な時には安定を求め、安定が続くと非凡なものを求めるものです。自然から学ぶ科学と、内面から表現する芸術は、正反対にあると言えますが、本質的な共通点も多くあります。本プロジェクトでは、海洋コアセンターでの研究に使用された後、不要となった物品のみを用いて、一見矛盾する二つの世界を創り出しました。一方は安定しており、もう一方は不安定かもしれません。一つ一つ眺めると、安定しているようでありながら不安定にも見えるでしょう。色や用途、素材によって分類することのできない、複雑でありながら単純で、繊細でありながら大胆な宇宙の心理こそが、まさに科学と芸術の共通項なのです。正解など存在しない。どちらとも取れる「揺らぎ」のような曖昧さゆえの自由を持つこの作品が、日々研究に没頭する人々の心を癒やし、解放することを願っている。あなたが感じる直感は、あなただけが感じる直感なのだ。

Isn't it the same for human beings?
When we are unstable, we want stability, and when stability persists, we want the extraordinary. Science, which learns from nature, and art, which expresses itself from within, can be said to be the exact opposite, but they have many essential points in common. In this project, I created two seemingly contradictory worlds using only items no longer needed after being used in research at the Core Center. One may be stable and one may be unstable. Looking at them one by one, they may seem stable but unstable. The psychology of the universe, which cannot be categorized by color, usage, or material, and which is complex yet simple, delicate yet bold, is rightly the common denominator of science and art. There is no right answer, and I hope that this work, which has a freedom due to its ambiguity, like a 'fluctuation' that can be said either way, will heal and liberate the minds of those who are concentrating on their research on a daily basis. The intuition you feel is your intuition that only you feel.
